Growing up I was always involved in crafts – a trait handed down from my grandmother.
I had tried all sorts of crafts when I learned about weaving. I have always enjoyed taking basic materials and creating items using my hands. In 2007 I had the opportunity to purchase a beautiful cherry floor loom. Without knowing how to weave I found someone to teach me and I was hooked. One loom has become 3. I started weaving chenille scarves and have added cotton towels, shawls in several different fibers, placemats and table runners over the years. Weaving definitely stuck.
In 2019 I saw online the art of glass mosaic. I had wanted to learn about creating mosaic with glass on stones. Having a large collection of glass become available I decided I would need to work on larger projects than small stones. I put the word out to folks that were cleaning out buildings that I was looking for windows that were going to be taken to the landfill and it all began. Full sized windows and smaller frames kept me busy, adding mosaic on mirror, Christmas ornaments and learned the art of creating pet portraits in glass. Mosaic work has become at least half of my overall business.
After the end of one chapter in my life I needed to figure out employment that allowed me to keep my border collie Rex with me as he was accustomed to being with me 24/7 so I opened my own studio with Rex as the mascot.
Opening my own studio in 2020 under the name Wheeler Woven & Mosaic in Wilmington, VT I worked at creating works of art in both fiber and glass for folks visiting our area in Southern Vermont. I enjoy researching and solving creative challenges and making beautiful works of art that are both useful and pleasing. Losing Rex in 2022 I decided to keep the studio going and welcomed a 2-month-old border collie named Moss to the studio. In 2026 rebranding my business to Wild Clover Weaving & Mosaic gives Moss and I a start on this new chapter in this creative life I’ve built. I look forward to many more creative challenges and new avenues in this new journey.

Moss joined me on this journey in November of 2022 after losing my Rex. He is my true partner in this adventure. He is quirky, silly, smart, obsessed with chuck it balls, photogenic and my reason for all I do everyday. He takes his job of greeting customers and luring them into a ball game very seriously. In between customers he can be found taking naps in preparation for the next customer.
